I originally made a cushion like this for my “horse-mad” daughter, to go in her bedroom. It was such a success with her that I decided to make another for any other “horse-mad” people out there!

Full description
This hand-made cushion cover is made from a gold coloured striped fabric, which gives the cushion a luxurious soft feel. The centre panel is plain white cotton and features a machine embroidery design of a horse jumping through a horseshoe. The centre panel is then edged with a rich brown coloured ribbon. The colour of the horse is emphasised by the colours of the fabric and the edging ribbon.
The front of the cushion cover is lined with a cream coloured poly-cotton to cover up all the seam edges and the back of the embroidery.
The back of the cushion cover is made from a contrasting cream coloured, “waffle” type cotton fabric and has a cross-over back with button closure. The outer edge of the cushion cover is then top-stitched about 1inch (2cm) from the edge, all the way round, to create a small frill around the cushion.
This cushion cover does not contain a cushion insert. It will need a cushion insert of 17" x 13" (43cm x 33cm) to make it look plump and well padded.
All the fabric and thread used to make the cushion cover is washable at 30C.and both the cushion fabric and the embroidered design can be ironed on the medium setting.
This cushion cover would make a lovely gift for anybody who likes horses or ponies.
