Sewing has always been a hobby of mine. Several years ago, I upgraded my sewing machine to a combined sewing and embroidery machine, making my hobby even more enjoyable and creative.
I enjoy embroidering a design and then using the embroidery as a feature on items that I make, such as a cushion or a cover for a notebook, or a small purse.
I originally started by just making gifts for family and friends but was then encouraged to start making items to sell. And so, Embroidery Scene was created.
Some of the embroidery designs used on my products have been purchased from the EmbroideryLibrary.com website. EmbroideryLibrary provide a license allowing their designs to be stitched onto products which are made for sale.
However, I have recently bought embroidery design software and am learning to create my own embroidery designs. This is proving to be quite a challenge, but hopefully, over time, I will be able to include more and more of my own designs on the products that I make. Creating these designs takes many hours, trying to ensure that the right stitch type and stitch direction is used to create the desired effect and checking that the design stitches out correctly.
The designs used on my products are inspired by my love of nature. I love animals, especially dogs and wildlife, as well as flowers and gardens.
I would love one day to have my own sewing room, but for now all my sewing and embroidery takes place in a corner of the dining room. My supply of fabric, however, seems to be slowly taking over the whole house!
