Introducing my 'Bird in a Box'.

This little bird has been designed and handmade by me using a beautiful cotton floral fabric. Both his wings are then finished with vintage lace and a vintage 1940s/50s linen washing button and he sits on delicate wire legs.
Each bird that I make is entirely unique and comes with his own numbered leg ring. No two birds ever have the same number and the ring shows my initials and the birds unique number - this little fella is number 11.
Each bird also comes boxed with a small card stating it's number, date it was made and my signature. A super and unique present for any bird lover.

This bird measures approx. 11cm high and 15cm wide (from tip of beak to tip of tail).
Please note he is purely decorative and is not suitable for children.

My background is in illustration but as soon as I started using the sewing machine I became hooked and found that it was a fabulous medium to translate my ideas. I have a love of birds, particularly garden birds so I wanted to make my own fabric version. After three or four prototypes I arrived at this little fella. Although each of my birds is based on my original pattern I find they always take on their own character depending on the fabric I use and the way I put it together. Each one is uniquely numbered and I'll leave the name up to you!
