Everyone loves my basic aviator hat, so I wanted to design one with a bit more texture. I decided to use a simple cable. The cables contrast with the garter stitch aviator flap nicely and keep it modern.

Full description
A baby aviator hat with cable design, earflaps and an aviator style front flap. It fastens under the chin with one button.
The single cable pattern is very simple, with a six row repeat and would be ideal for someone who is trying cable knitting for the first time.
The pattern gives instructions for four sizes of baby hat:
0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 1 - 2 years.
My patterns are written in standard uk terms with clear instructions and plenty of pictures to guide you.
Yarn: Double knit
Tension: 22st and 30 rows to a 4 (10cm) square over stocking stitch
I have worked for several years writing project instructions for UK craft magazines, including knitting patterns.
You may make hats to sell using the pattern, but you cannot sell the pattern itself.
