The teasel and grasses detail are of my photos of Branscombe Beach in Devon. I print my photographic image onto special paper and printer from which I make a transfer. This is then carefully placed on the glass and heated to a high temperature in my kiln to bond the image with the glass. I then construct the panel using traditional leading techniques, as with church stained glass windows.

Full description

This atmospheric panel is inspired by the Devon seaside and uses my photos of teasels swaying in the breeze at sunset on Branscombe Beach. For this stained glass panel I used blue green, grey and yellow stained glass and the leaded panel is framed in a recycled wooden frame made by a local carpenter from off cuts. The kiln firing process that bonds the image to the glass has given the glass a lovely grainy texture to the glass, which adds to its vintage feel and the photographic detail of teasels is sepia, though it looks black when held against the light.
