This beautiful bud vase was hand-thrown on the wheel, and black and white clay slips were loosely brushed onto the surface. A transparent glaze containing oak ash was applied and then the piece was fired to around 1280 degrees centigrade.

This vase would make a stunning addition to any contemporary interior. Being made of stoneware clay, it is completely waterproof so could be used to display flowers. It measures approx. 4 inches tall.

Mark Smalley's personal seal has been applied to the underside.
