My theme for the November / December period of 2011 was Bamboo and I worked on a series of glass hangers experimenting with differnt paint techniques and views of this wonderful plant.
Its very threaputic to paint Bamboo, and in turn to look at. Especially with the amber surround.
Early on I started layering different types of glass, especially white over green for the tone it creates. Putting painting on bother layers creates some very nice effects and I like the subtle hint of the background imagery in this hanger.

Full description
Leaded glass window hanger. Central design of bamboo has been painted & kiln fired at 650degrees.
Border of White / Creamy Glass.
Center is the same white and backed with a piece of emerald green water glass.
There is painting on the top white and the reverse of the green so under certain light conditions the hanger will be all white in dull / night conditions and with the sun the centre will turn pale green and the back painting will become visible.
The white on green creates a very soothing tone.
Copper loops soldered on reverse top for threading fishing line through to hang.
Do not use a suction cup, hook & line supplied.
Signed & Dated on reverse in the Lead.
This item is 7 inches & 1/8th squared.
The paint work was done with tracing black in a matted style and kiln fired at 650.
Brushed Lead to a burnished finish.
