Meet the maker Louise Ford

I paint portraits of people I know, and need a bit of a kick up the backside to get going again so would love to take some commissions (as well as selling some older work too, of course!).

I enjoy images that show extremes of light and dark and tend to paint on bits of board and wood that I find lying around rather than proper canvas. My paintings are passionate and exciting but fairly traditional in style. I have a strong appreciation of the work of the Dutch Masters, in particular Rembrandt, as well as more modern portrait artists such as Chuck Close.
