Meet the maker cheryl marren
urban alien handicrafts are the work of me, cheryl marren.
I have been making things for over 20 years.
I love nature, using it as an inspiration for most of my designs (in however abstract a way!) and currently live almost in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between Wolverhampton and Telford, UK.
One word often used to describe me: ZANY
I love anything quirky, colourful and unusual.
I often make my pieces from recylced/upcycled things and will work in any medium, trying to find new ways to use materials and to bring new life to old stuff... but I am always striving for unusual ways to make memorable and unique items.
And whatever I choose to use, each component is carefully selected and the designs brought together with the utmost concern for durability, wearability, individuality and most importantly of all, beauty.
INSPIRATIONS: the word weird :: nature :: art :: the abstract :: upcycling :: recycling :: hippies :: goths :: steampunk :: history :: historical fashion :: rock music :: baroque music :: romance - especially the hopeless kind :: horror films :: literature and stories :: fairies :: mythology :: surrealism :: the renaissance... and lots of other things!
I love to make custom items and will be happy to discuss your requirements and design ideas with you to help you get just the right piece for you!.
