Meet the maker

Travelling stitches has been alive now for about 5 years. I design and make all my products from home in the winter, and in our van in the summer when we are on the go, as all i need is my faithful sewing machine.
It all started on a proffessional level when my family and I were running a tipi campsite in the depths of Cornwall. We were living off grid with no electrickery. So i turned to my lovely hand crank sewing machine and made some traditional games to pass the time with my family. Customers would come and borrow a game for a rainy night in a tipi and ended up making more and more as people would ask me to make them one to take home. I adapted my design making them a travellers perfect companion. Please be aware that each game is unique and may vairy from the photo.
I source my materials from donations, charity shops and vintage stores etc. The canvas is tipi off cuts. The felt is bought from new and i often can`t resist a metre of lovelyness from my local haberdashery shop. Beautifull fabric is a weakness of mine. The counters are bought glass nuggets. I am hoping to extend my workshop at home to enabe me to make my own counters out of clay, as i am luckey to have the use of a kiln.
