My oldest possession is a beautiful, red felt stocking that my great aunt made for me for my first Christmas. It has a hand appliqued reindeer on the front, and, 45 years later, still makes an appearance every Christmas.
This stocking was the inspiration for The Sherbet Patch.
I studied textile design at Horsham School of Art in the 1980's, but life took a different direction in 1986. I volunteered on a kibbutz in Israel during the summer, a three month placement which kickstarted a love of travel, of Israel, that continued until 1991. Now, I live in a rural village in South Wales.
I have always loved experimenting with texture, colour and design, in various media, but fabric is my passion, along with photography.
I set up The Sherbet Patch in February 2012.
