Meet the maker

The Glitter Kitty is run by Joe and Nat who both have a huge love and appreciation of all things alternative and sparkly!

Between us our tastes run between goth and punk, burlesque, pin-up, horror, tattoo and a love of bright and sparkling colours and textures. We recycle vintage pieces helping to make our items unique and it's kinder to the environment too.

About us:

Joe - I have three furry kitties, grew up listening to The Cure and Metallica, always dyeing my hair blue or green, love to rummage in vintage stores and flea markets, always looking for something new, usually has about 15 - 20 pieces of work in progress on the go at a time, because I'm easily distracted!

Nat - I love cosmetics and and I have at least 40 bottles of perfume! Loving making different kinds of cakes right now and attending classes of anything from macaroon making to sugar skull makeup photoshoots. I have recently passed my driving test, so I'm looking to travel far and wide around the UK soon.

Our Inspiration:

Inspiration is found everywhere for our items, and while we risk sounding like a cliche, it is such a true statement. It can be found in anything such as the way a curtain drapes through to a cheap and cheerful cracker charm, everything provides inspiration, in one way or another, and we have a ton of ideas yet to come to fruition, some will make it, some will be lost only to be replaced by others, some sit idly on our shelf while we keep hunting for the perfect bead or pendant to complete it.

Our Quality:

All our pieces are inspected several times during the creation process, we use only the best quality resin, strongest glues and fittings, and finest glitters, giving our pieces strength, durability, shine and sparkle.

Our Pricing:

We create all the pieces of jewellery in a dedicated studio, each and every piece of jewellery we make has a lot of time invested in it, often more so than the price reflects, but we want to make our jewellery affordable to everyone and each piece is built to last a long time.

If you are not satisfied with your item, please get in touch, we want all of our customers to be 100% happy with the quality and appearance of our pieces.

Recycling and Vintage:

We use many recycled and vintage/antique bits and bobs in our jewellery and accessories, every care is taken to ensure metals are lead and nickle free, items have been cleaned, sanded, buffed and totally made safe before they are allowed anywhere near our studio, we wouldn't have it any other way!

Postage and Packaging:

Items in the UK are sent 2nd class recorded, often boxed or very well wrapped and placed into bubble envelopes for further protection. The postage 'cost' you pay is a contribution towards the full cost, and so to help us save money and be kinder to the environment, we will often recycle good quality envelopes/tissue/bags and boxes, but only if it's appropriate.

Custom Pieces:

We can offer a custom made service to you, please note our prices are no different to what they would be if the item was up for sale in the store, we believe in fair pricing! The timescales can differ, depending on what you would like us to make, for example, a custom coloured resin heart could take approximately 2 weeks, something more elaborate could take much longer, depending on availability of materials. A 25% deposit will be required before we can commence your item, to cover materials.
