Meet the maker
About me
I am currently delisting things here & moving them to my other Folksy shop, Gisborne. This is because I belatedly noticed that there are several other organisations using the name "The Glass Eye"(WHOOPS!).
I have always made things. I have knitted, sewn, painted, drawn, sculpted, whittled, carved, molded,
embroidered...........Stained glass is not the only craft! I make things in old-fashioned ways here on the dear old-fashioned Isle of Wight. I also sell jewellery made from sterling silver & upcycled materials. I could custom make a pendant from your favorite plate or saucer that has accidentally been broken, or from the remnant of Granny`s best dinner service. I have sold several of these china & silver items as 20th wedding anniversary presents and can add your initials (and the "&" sign) to the reverse of a pendant before making it for a very reasonable charge. Contact me about these options.
I also marble paper and will soon be offering writing paper & envelopes marbled by hand.
Ordering
Please pay within 3 days of buying. I accept payment by Paypal. It’s simple to set up a Paypal account or you can follow their instructions to make a one-off credit or debit card payment.
Glass breaks, so I do not send stained glass items outside the UK, but I suppose that I could.........(contact me). Jewellery can be easily sent almost anywhere. I pack every item really, really carefully, using recycled materials as far as possible (which is usually all the way). I post items within 3 days of having received your payment, but usually I can post sooner, although the post to & from the Island does tend to be a little slower than on the mainland, particularly in a gale.
Items are sent by Royal Mail Parcel Post. Smaller things go First Class on the hovercraft, larger ones take the slow boat.
Returns
The Distance Selling Regulations apply, so I will give a full refund, including postage & packing, for whatever reasons if the item is returned within 7 days of receipt; please contact me within a week of receiving your item; you would only pay for the postage to return the item.
If there is a problem that requires a little time (payment for example) please just email me and let me know.
