Meet the maker

Years pursuing various careers in fashion, publishing, pr and more recently the medical world and bringing up two now successfully fledged sons are finally behind me and I can indulge my creative whims, having trained yonks ago at St Martin’s School of Art in London.

I make all sorts of things - jewellery, corsages, bags, decorative items for the home like door-stops and cushions - in handmade felt and felted crochet and knitting. I also love using recycled fabrics and papers, and vintage buttons and beads are incorporated whenever or wherever possible! I also work in willow (freeforms and baskets) and in pmc silver. My newest ventures are with polymer clay, and making baskets and bowls with fabric covered cord, creating the most wonderful patterns, some of the prettiest in vintage Liberty prints. If you google search coiled fabric baskets hey I'm on pages 1 and 2! NB many of my items are listed on other sites. Please contact me before paying to confirm one-offs are still available.

I am happy to discuss COMMISSIONS – in terms of colour, size, shape or using your own fabrics, buttons or beads. I love being involved in designs for weddings – ring pillows, felt and crochet bouquets, hair decorations etc, so ‘something old, something new’ really does take on a whole new meaning!

I prefer payment by Paypal. Your order will be despatched within five working days of receipt of notification from Paypal. If you wish to pay by cheque or postal order, please contact me first. Cheques take, on average, 8 working days to clear, after which your items will be despatched. If you have any trouble with making a payment, or if you are likely to be away when you think I will be posting, please let me know to avoid any problems.
As mentioned in my listings, my items are all handmade and unique. There may be small imperfections – I’m not a robot – but I hope you will consider these part of the charm of a handmade item. However, if not happy with anything, just contact me and let me know you are returning it and why within 7 days of purchase in suitable protective packaging if not that in which it was sent. On receipt, I will arrange a REFUND through Paypal if you give me your payment details. Alternatively I can REPLACE with something similar, though obviously not the same if it is a one-off. I use recycled packaging where possible, but some protective material is inevitably needed.
Any odd pennies overcharged on postage should they occur are put in the collection box on our post office counter and I hope you are happy with that. If you would prefer, and if the overpayment is more than 50p, I will happily refund it if you let me know you’d like it back of course. Please note also that I am happy to combine shipping costs. However, the higher postage cost will always apply when combining items with differing postage costs.
