Meet the maker Joanne Elliott

I live on a farm on the surrey/sussex border with my husband, two children and our various animals which include 4 dogs,a cat,ducks,guinea pig,chickens, ferrets and sheep.
I started making fairie jewellery 2 years ago when a friend said she needed some fairies to sell in her shop - Firing Earth. It was slightly bad timing for me, as at home we had just begun doing some work on our house which involved knocking walls down and changing all the rooms around! But I was inspired! And so it began; beads and bits taking over the kitchen table (competing with the builders dust, paint samples and half the sitting room which was temporarily in the kitchen). My two enthusiastic but loud children have both enjoyed helping me along the way and love choosing which colours to dress the small people in.
We are a little more organised now and I have even managed to gain a small work room, which divides its time between my creative side and my spiritual side; when i'm not making jewellery i practise reikii or meditate in the only quiet part of the house. My creative and spiritual sides have been well and truly awoken and i'm now on a magical journey, I see things I want to make and do everywhere, there's just not enough time!!
I gain ideas and inspiration on walks with my dogs through the ancient woodland taking in the beauty of the natural world; looking out for fairies along the way.
