Meet the maker

After floating through the education system unscarred and uninspired I found myself in a self-made limbo. Steered toward the largely unfulfilling world of academia I was adrift. After years of dead-end jobs I finally returned to my childhood passion of making stuff.

As a child I was always wanting to make, to crochet, to embroider, to bead, to weave, to knit, to quilt. When other teenagers customized their jeans with ragged rips I did mine with freestyle technicolour embroidery. But it's not until I left work altogether and had a child of my own that these yearnings, along with my love of colour, crystallized into Aurora Skies.
