Meet the maker Jo Lucksted
Basically, I'm a magpie...
Being a crafter/maker/artist ( I still don't know what to call myself!) satisfies the magpie in me. I covet things of beauty, whether that is in the form, or the texture or the material that something is made from, but always I value the skill that has gone into handmade or vintage pieces.
I hope that some elements of these qualities are reflected in the items I create.
Over the years I have enjoyed knitting, crochet, sewing, silversmithing, printing and photography but I have always had a kinship with clay. It is the medium where I can most easily express myself. Occasionally I like to venture into textiles, just to enjoy the immediacy of playing with the sewing machine after having to respect the processes of working with clay.
In my folksy shop you will find whatever my most recent pleasure has been, in ceramic or textile form produced in my open studio/shop on a high street in Somerset, England.
My influences are many and varied, but always in the back of my mind rings William Morris' words of wisdom,
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."

Shipping
Items shipped will be those as they appear in my shop, unless otherwise stated in item description. Any difference from photographed item will be down to the nature of handmade pieces, but I will make every effort to explain any variation.
I will ship the item to you within 3 working days of confirmation of payment receipt unless it is a made to order item. The items will be sent first class. I will notify you of postage date and expected date of arrival once dispatched. Items will be wrapped carefully using recycled packaging, but I can also ship gift wrapped if required. Just email me for more information.
I am very happy to create bespoke pieces. Due to the processes involved with ceramics, the production time will need to be considered when placing an order. Usually items take about 3 weeks from start to finish, so if you are in a hurry you will need to factor this in....please contact me for more information.
Terms and Conditions
Unless otherwise stated all items sold are as they appear in my shop images. Custom made orders will vary but I will usually send the client an image of the finished piece prior to dispatch.
Refunds
I hope you are not disappointed when you receive your order. If however, you are not happy with the item, please contact me first. I value your opinion and will try my hardest to rectify any problem with you order. Should you decide to return an item I will refund it's cost provided it is returned within 14 days of purchase. Unfortunately I cannot cover the cost of return postage and packing, and it will be the customer's responsibility to ensure the item is returned in perfect condition with full packaging. For your own protection I recommend a delivery option which requires a signature on receipt and has insurance cover as I am unable to cover the cost of loss or damage incurred on returning the item to me. Retain your receipt on posting just in case.
If you wish to replace or exchange the item you have returned I will provide free postage and packaging.
If goods are faulty or incorrect I will refund the delivery costs as well as the cost of your purchase and your return postage.
International deliveries may incur duties on entry to the country. These must be paid by the recipient and are in addition to stated shipping costs.
