Meet the maker Jenny Gale

I am a self-taught sewing fanatic. I've been making things for myself for over 10 years, ever since I was given an old sewing machine by my Mum to fix up so I could make curtains for my first house. I still make all my own curtains but they look a lot better these days!

I made my first bag a couple of years ago for myself. I received so many compliments that I began to make them to sell to friends and family. As I hunted for interesting new fabrics a real passion was born. My work has come a long way in two years; I take great pleasure in the process of designing and making. After sketching out ideas I make the patterns myself and take care to really get it right; every item is something I could imagine myself using and enjoying. The making process involves a lot of attention to detail: interfacing all fabrics; interlining to add structure and make hard-wearing products; reinforcing stress points and using beautiful antique brass hardware and tough woven cotton webbing or leather for straps.

As well as selling via Folksy and Facebook I sell locally at craft fairs where I love to meet my customers face to face and enjoy receiving their feedback. Time permitting, I'm happy to take bespoke requests if you would like something a little different; perhaps a different colour or length of strap; an alternative fabric or lining; an added zip here or there.

PAYMENT

Payment is via Paypal through the Folksy checkout process. If you have any problems please contact me.

DELIVERY TIMES

Most items are in stock and will posted first class within three days of payment. Some items will be specially made upon receipt of your order (e.g. Kindle Sleeves as sizes vary), so will take an extra couple of days. If you are in a hurry please message me and I will do what I can to prioritise your order.

RETURNS

You will find that my products are very well made and carefully checked before sending out. However if you find that the item you purchase is not as expected or deemed to be faulty or unsuitable for some reason then you may return the item, properly packaged, within 14 days of receipt and I will issue a full refund. Please message me via Folksy or at jennygale@rocketmail.com to request the address for returns. Please obtain proof of postage if you return an item as you will need to claim from the carriage provider you use should the item get lost in the post.
