Meet the maker Jeanni Carolyn
Hi. My long career in nursing ended very abruptly after I injured my spine. This was followed by surgery that went spectacularly wrong and left me unable walk without crutches. Many months later, after I'd got my head back together, I decided to follow my heart and take up silversmithing, something I had wanted to do all my life.
I can now say that I'm almost glad the injury happened. I love the creative side of my work. I can sit and doodle until i come up with something new, or just get an idea that i then jot down and change until i'm happy with the design. I work mainly in silver and copper, and i love that i can get a sheet of silver and cut, shape, hammer and solder it, and have something beautiful at the end.
I live in a small town on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire, UK.
