Meet the maker Julie Hellawell

My name is Julie Hellawell and I live in, North Yorkshire. Over the years I have handmade many gifts for my family and friends. I have always been naturally creative and I am attracted to colourful and interesting eye catching objects (iCandy). I am inspired by the beautiful local coastline and countryside where I live, which fuels my imagination and creativity. I enjoy painting, photography and sewing but I also turn my hand at card making and jewellery. All my creations are 100% handcrafted from design to completion. I welcome commissions whether it’s a personalised gift, wedding favours or you would like one of my designs in a different colour. I have plenty of specially selected coloured wool mix felt, fabrics, beads and card stock which I gather from national hobby and craft fairs and overseas. I share my creative enthusiasm with local artists and crafters, occasionally I will invite a guest artist to sell their creation(s) at iCandy Crafts. A brief profile of the guest artist will be posted against their item. My family and friends have encouraged me to share my handmade crafts with the world so I decided to open iCandy Crafts on Folksy.

My handbag charms and brooches are 100% handcrafted using quality wool mix felt, fine fabrics, threads, beads and genuine Swarowski crystals in my designs. My photographs are my own images taken locally and occasionaly from my visits to other countries around the world. My cards and paintings are also my own creations but occasionally I will invite a guest artist to exhibit and sell their work through iCandy Crafts.

My ambition is to bring iCandy gifts to the world……. We all like a little iCandy!)

Each item for sale is the item you will receive. I take care when photographing and describing my items to give you the best colour description and information. I am always happy to supply you a link with extra images which will be posted on Photo Bucket. All items listed for sale on iCandy Crafts are copyright protected ©iCandy Crafts.

Delivery/Shipping

My delivery options and prices will be listed against the item I am selling. All items are dispatched within 48 hours of cleared payment (Monday to Friday). I offer combined shipping, local pickup, Royal Mail 1st Class UK, International Shipping within Europe and selected countries worldwide. If you require a special shipping service over and above the service I offer, please contact me first before you purchase your item to ensure the service is obtainable and shipping price is agreed. Any items or collective items sold above £25.00 GBP for UK postage will be sent recorded delivery. International buyers: please contact me prior to your purchase if your order will exceed £25.00 GBP.

Cancellation rights

All items are dispatched within 48 hours of cleared payment. If you change your mind about an item and would like to cancel your purchase please contact me within 24 hours prior to dispatch. You will not be able to cancel your purchase once the item has been marked as shipped.

Refunds and Returns

iCandy Crafts and associated guest artists do not offer exchanges on items sold but if you are not happy with your purchase for any reason please contact me first to discuss. I reserve the right to refuse any returns if the condition of the item differs from that which was sent out i.e used or not in original packaging. All refunds will be issued via Paypal for the price of the goods only - initial postage costs are non-refundable, but in cases where items arrive damaged I will issue an additional refund of postage costs when the damaged item is returned back to me. NOTE: if your item was insured against loss or damage in transit please contact the carrier for advice on making a claim.

Safety and Allergies

The creations I make and sell are not suitable for children under the age of 3 and are not toys. In respect of allergies I will do my best to ensure that items I sell include a brief description of product elements/composites. If you are not sure or do not understand the description please do not hesitate to contact me.
