Meet the maker

I could sit and hook all day just to see the colours evolve and a particular design come to life. Hooking is an old tradition born out of thrift and used by the Northumbrian miners wifes to warm the cold floors of their pit cottages and make them more homely, up here we call them proggy or clippy mats.
It does become obbssesive but it is very time consuming and quite sore on the hands but it does feel good to be recycling and creating something out of nothing.
I like to use natural fabrics best especially wool ( I even dye my own sometimes) onto a hessian background, sometimes I use made made fibres when I want some sparkle or pissaz.
I hope you enjoy looking at my little shop and feel inspired to buy something. Every creation large or small is a one off piece totally unique, every tiny loop put in by hand with a hook or wooden progger.
