Meet the maker Clare Schofield

I like working with my hands and mixing up materials, so I collage onto drawings and prints, add feathers, threads and text to handmade paper and whatever takes my fancy.
I live with a mess of collected fabrics, papers, buttons, yarns and fibres that I can't resist putting together to make interesting things. Hopefully.
Many moons ago I studied Fine Art - even then I was stitching into drawings and paintings, using found, non-art and 'textile' materials. I haven't stopped since.

I am inspired by what I see, things I read, and the music I listen to. A big part of my inspiration comes directly from the materials themselves and their different qualities.
