Meet the maker Marije Nicklin

Growing up on a small island in the North Sea, Terschelling, I went to uni in Leeuwarden and then in Leeds in 1998 I went to study International Communications. After a few years I returned to the UK and now live with sparkly husband in Otley, a market town in West Yorkshire.

I enjoy the emotions of colour and contrasting colour combinations and I love the different textures between smooth glaze and rough stone. I aim to bring out the best of both in my work keeping in mind the item's functionality.
