Meet the maker Lindsay Day

EvaJeanie and the Sewing Machiney

I am a textiles designer and work with a mix of vintage and modern fabrics, making beautiful homewares and gifts that I embellish with details from designs that I draw. I have a BA(Hons) in Graphic Communication, my work is very illustrative and I have found that the technique free machine embroidery best suits my style, I love how it allows you to ‘sketch’ with the threads. I have always sketched, painted and made things, my Mum say's I could 'colour-in' before I could walk!

My work is all hand made; hand sewn by me in my studio. Each piece is exquisitely crafted with great love and attention to detail. Whilst pieces are often replicated, no two will ever be the same and that is what makes each one such a treasure.

I endeavour to show my personality through my work, I try to make each piece unique to me or to the buyer. This can be through the text/slogans I sometimes embroider text on to the items, for example ‘there’s life in the old bag yet’ on my carrier bag holders, or my Blackberry gadget sleeve that has Gooseberry’s embroidered to the front.

I work from my home in Kettering, Northants, UK. Where I split my time between my love of textiles, my design agency and my two year old daughter who keeps me on my toes, so never a dull moment!

My creations come from my imagination and are original in design and finish.

I will happily make bespoke items upon request.
