Meet the maker Debbie Stevenson
Hi, for as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed making things. About 2 years ago whilst visiting my parents in Letchworth, I wandered into my favourite bookshop, "David's Bookshop" and discovered a book on polymer clay beads. I have been hooked ever since! Initially I made gifts for friends and family, but encouraged by my sister, who is a silversmith and jewellery designer, I began to sell further a field. I now sell at local craft fairs and take commissions. I have also recently began to demonstrate polymer clay techniques to small groups locally. I love the colours and intricate effects that can be achieved using polymer clay and the beautiful effects that you sometimes stumble upon by accident. My special interest is in intricate millefiori caning and inspiration for my new designs comes from a variety of sources including snippets of material, the beautiful Wharfedale countryside around me, my garden and art. My unique beads are combined with Tibetan silver beads and fastenings and a variety of toning glass beads. Each item of jewellery is handmade and individual. I only produce work in small quantities so items are part of limited collections, or one offs. I also make items by commission so please contact me if you would like further details. Thank you for taking the time to look at my shop.
