Meet the maker Rachel Terry

I am a textile artist living on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in the Uk. I make fabric items including cushions, rugs and wall hangings for the home and scarves, stoles and veils for special occasions. My favourite techniques are applique, patchwork, free machine embroidery and rag rugging. I like to combine techniques in new ways so my work can be a bit eclectic.

As I was previously a museum curator for many years at the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Quilters' Guild a lot of historical stuff does creep into my work as you might expect. As well as historical fabrics I am also inspired by the local landscape, buildings, folk and fairy tales which all hopefully blend in my work in new ways.

I have an ongoing series of workshops in my local area and am a member of the textile art group Textilia 3. You can see more of my work on their website www.textilia3.co.uk I also do a lot of work to commission and am always happy to discuss one-off pieces for special occasions or events.

My postage charges also include suitable packaging and I will aim to send your item within seven days of your payment reaching my account. I normally send items in the Royal Mail letter or parcel post as appropriate, but if you have specific requirements please get in touch to discuss them.

If an item arrives damaged or is faulty in some way please contact me straight away to arrange for a return and refund or replacement. If you are returning an item for other reasons then this must be within seven days and the item has to be in returned in its original condition and packaging. You will need to bear the postage costs yourself if you are returning an item unless it was damaged in transit or otherwise faulty.

I do hope you enjoy visiting my Folksy shop and if you have any comments or questions do get in touch - I would love to hear from you.
