Meet the maker

Howdy, I currently have a blog (barethreads-sewspot.blogspot.com/) and a Burdastyle profile as I struggle with pattern pieces and zipper feet trying to make clothes that are wearable, I have yet to sell anything. Apart from a waistcoat to my father. I love seeing my ideas come to life, as I construct something new, and original, with my personal touch. I think it's a shame that we expect our clothes (and everything else) to be super cheap because it's all disposable to us these days. We have no respect for how things are made and the people that make them. I hope that the recession, unemployment, a growing consciousness about the environment, the loss of independent shops, and the treatment of workers will fuel this revival of homemade crafts. They're usually nicer anyway.
