Meet the maker Amanda
I live in the countryside near the beautiful mediaeval city of Canterbury, the home of the Canterbury Tales and of course the spectacular Canterbury Cathedral.
I love every aspect of making soap, from choosing and mixing scents, melting and mixing the oils and judging when the liquid soap turns to just the right "trace". Each ingredient adds its own colour and texture and unpredictability.
I am an Occupational Therapist by trade, and came to soapmaking through my interest in using activity as a therapeutic medium. Although I don't make Cold Process Soap at work, I am very lucky to be able to explore creativity through my therapeutic art groups and this in turn informs and inspires my soapmaking.
My husband is a beekeeper and we are both fascinated by bees and honey. I use the honey in my soaps and plan to also make good use of all the lovely natural beeswax.
Here is a testimonial from a client for whom I recently completed a corporate order :
"I run my own Complementary Therapy Business, and was looking for a unique gift for my precious regular massage clients, as a thank you for their loyal custom this year. I asked Amanda of Soap Dragon to supply me with 65 christmas gift packs of her beautiful handmade soap. She delivered a high-quality product, to my exact requirements, under budget and bang on time. I would recommend her services to anyone, and I am still enjoying the complementary sample pack she sent to me myself, and it is completely gorgeous!"
