Meet the maker Vicki Murdie

I learnt to crochet when I was a child and have inherited my great grandmothers crochet hooks, which I love to use when possible. I hadn't picked up a hook for years until I was off ill when pregnant with my first child and decided to crochet a cot blanket to save me from going insane!

I have loved making things for my family (I now have two adorable, if noisy, children) and decided to start making things for others as a creative challenge for myself. I work as an aerospace engineer during the day so escaping to a world of lovely yarns, cute patterns and relaxing crochet is a complete change from the hectic, male dominated world at work!

I love visiting different wool shops and checking out new yarns with different colours and textures. Currently I have been working on some lovely scarves and accessories for winter with simple, bold retro style motifs for children and chunky marble textured items for adults.

All my work is 100% handmade by me and each piece is made with care and attention to detail. As my pieces are meant to be used everyday, I like to choose materials that have good texture and colour but also wash well. I finish my work off with woven labels that say 'Handmade with love by The Crochet Bunny'.
