Meet the maker Lynne McNicol

Based in Glasgow, Scotland. The name 'Squinty' and the logo design are inspired by the Clyde Arc bridge, known locally as The Squinty Bridge.

I make jewellery, other accessories and greetings cards from broken things like old necklaces, bits of electrical items, toys, etc. that I recycle/repurpose into something new. Hence the name, 'Squinty', everything is handmade and probably nowhere near perfect, no two items are alike, although there may be a few that look similar.**

I like unusual, quirky items and like using colours and textures that might normally not be used together. Everything is re-used, except for earring parts, for hygiene reasons. A lot of the beads and items that I use come from charity shops, other bits come from end of line, clearance sales, and donations from lovely people who are clearing out their jewellery boxes. Even the gift bags, bubble wrap and tissue paper I use are reused as much as possible.

**Most items I make fall into the 'one off' category, however I will occasionally do short runs of the same items, especially if it is a charity listing.**
