Meet the maker Bernadette Macken

To put it simply - if I’m not sewing, I’m thinking about sewing!
I just love it.. the whole process from beginning to end.

I’m in my element when I’m looking at fabrics, trying them together and finding a combination that works beautifully. I can spend hours browsing – and regularly do!
When I get my gorgeous bundle of fresh new fabric home I like to play around with it, laying it out and moving it round while I decide what I might create (and all of this before I even start sewing!)
There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a project come together piece by piece. I like to take my time with my sewing, sitting in front of my machine with a cup of tea by my side and a lovely view of the valley where we live – there’s nowhere I’d rather be.

I love taking on commissions and can make a quilt or blanket that’s unique to you, to suit your requirements. I can also make memory quilts from the precious baby clothes you have saved from when your kids were teeny-tiny.
