Meet the maker Steph Davies

Well ! Hello !!!

All this began because I wanted a surfboard ! In 2004 I got married in Cornwall and was given surf lessons as a wedding present ! That was it !!! Hooked ! So I decided I would see if I could make a few extra pennies and buy my own board... I had been making jewellery for myself for a while... mainly using seaglass and pebbles collected on the beach when walking our Dogs... little treasures and keepsakes of goodtimes... people started to notice so I took the plunge and began experimenting and selling at local fetes & craft fairs. I got a regular pitch at the monthly Northampton Bicycle Basket Bazaar and from monies made from this I took myself off to college in the evenings to learn the art of silversmithing. I have done the odd term here and there for the past 3 years and now have a corner of my garage set up as my workshop where I can play and experiment as much as I like ! We zoom off to Cornwall as often as we can in our old VW camper, trusty surfboard strapped to the roof... I love designing, getting messy and creating new beautiful things... Its a real buzz seeing people wearing my pieces ! At the moment this is very much a hobby... I work full time to pay those bills and other grown up things, but this is what soothes my soul and makes me happy.

Who is Scruffy Dog? Well that would be my beloved bearded collie Badger Bear.
