Meet the maker Sally & Mike Jubb
Sally worked for many years as a scientist, before undertaking a 2-year Masters degree in Textile Conservation at the Textile Conservation Centre in Winchester (now relocated to Glasgow). Alongside this (from about the age of six in fact), she always made things with fabric: hand and machine sewing & embroidery, knitting (including spool knitting), crochet, a bit of lace making, some patchwork, some weaving (especially with a peg loom recently)... and she also likes to experiment with dyeing fabric and yarns.
Mike is an ex primary school teacher, and sometime children's poet.
Sally's textile conservation studio, with small retail space, is at Cockington Court Craft Centre, Torquay (www.cockingtoncourt.org), and our Folksy shop is all about quality craft supplies at the best prices we can manage, topped off with great personal service to our customers.
