I trained in graphics at art college in the 80s and worked for years in various studios in the publishing industry. However whilst at home raising my children to school age I rediscovered a love of more tactile, three-dimensional skills... I have always had a passion for creating jewellery for myself and friends. I love to work with broken or forgotten vintage items, designing something beautiful in the process. It's just another kind of recycling! Many of my creations are unique and OOAK due to the vintage elements involved.I live in Yorkshire with my husband and my two gorgeous boys, I'm a WAHM currently spending every spare minute (of which there aren't many) in my workshop, aka the spare room! But I have big plans for the garden shed...!My hubby also has a Folksy shop, have a look at 'Dig The Earth'. Hmm, he'd better not get any ideas, the shed is mine! All of my vintage and preloved components are carefully cleaned before becoming part of a new creation. This is to remove any dirt or debris from a piece's former existence, but not to get rid of any gorgeous age or patina! Where possible this is done in my ultrasonic cleaning tank, however more delicate items are cleaned with patience, a soft brush and good old soap & water.
