Meet the maker Lynn Watt

I am on mission...a mission to save and preserve the art of the kimono! The kimono is dying out as modern ideals take over the traditions and rituals of ancient Japan. The more I discover about kimonos and their fabric, the more I want to save it! There are kimonos for every season, for every occassion, for every event, for every weather. The patterns symbolise wealth, happiness, love and good fortune, aswell as the personality of the actual wearer. The design of these fabrics is sometimes so complex; there is so much more to them than meets the eye.
I carefully select my chosen fabrics - all are of exquisite quality and design - and sew these into precious articles of desire. My cushions aren't really meant for daily use - the material is far too special - but are intended as works of art, preserving ancient techniques and customs for many more years to come.
Each kimono cushion I make is unique and special in its' own way and I really do have trouble parting with them - they are like precious babies!
