Meet the maker
Hello, my name is Sue and I'm a craftswoman, artist and writer, living and working in the wild and woolly reaches of West Norfolk.
Having written for many year about six years ago I began to paint again and then went on a course to learn how to make rag-rug. It was like an injection of joy and excitement. I rediscovered this huge love of colour and texture
I'm so excited and delighted by it, that even now, seeing a great bundle of recycled fabrics (all freshly laundered, after their journey home with me) makes my mouth water!
So now, besides writing my main passion is making rag rugs and collage, but I also make all kinds of jewellery and lovely things from found and recycled materials.
I find it almost impossible to just sit still and do nothing - making things keeps my hands and mind occupied!
I teach rug making, adore gardening and cooking, walking my handsome old dog and sharing my life with my lovely man - a corporate bunny who is a little stunned to find himself with an artist and craftswoman for a wife!
If you want to check details of your order, to ask questions, specify a colour or a design, find out more about what I do, or would like to find out about the workshops I run, or join my mailing list, please contact me on ragbagsandbaubles@gmail.com
***Update 2011*** I've just added a great range of rag rugging tools and kits to my shop, having found them almost impossible to source when I wanted to learn. They are all made in the UK by two craftsmen.
If you buy anything from RagsBagsandBaubles I aim to get it into the post within two working days, items will be sent by first class post. Where possible, to keep costs down, I recycle packaging.
Thank you for looking.
With all best wishes and lots of love,
xxx
Sue
