Meet the maker Karen Mitchell

I have been making mosaics since 2007. My mosaics are all my own designs and each one is unique, I never make two the same. I love to use glass, glazed and unglazed ceramic tiles, glass tiles, millefiori, smalti, broken crockery and glass nuggets. My mosaics are made on mdf, marine ply, new items and sometimes I use second hand 3D objects. I use coloured and grey grout and finish my items with paint or varnish around the edges and back where necessary, giving a clean and tidy finish. I get my inspiration from everywhere and anywhere!

I have recently finished writing a mosaic section for a Dorling Kindersley book called Handmade Gifts. It is now on sale.

I also do many other crafts; sewing, quilting, drawing/painting, card making and knitting. So occasionally I may sell some of these items.

I create all items in a smoke/pet free environment.

Due to the nature of the mosaic products there may be sharp edges to some of the tiles. You should be aware of this when handling.

Cleaning your mosaic; a regular dry dusting is usually sufficient, however you can use mild soapy water or a glass cleaner (on glass tiles only) if necessary.

The mosaics are not suitable for outside use unless stated otherwise.

Shipping; is to the UK only and is normally within 72 hours of payment clearing. I use Royal Mail 2nd class recorded delivery unless stated otherwise. If you require an alternative please contact me to arrange and I will advise you of the revised cost. I only accept payment via Paypal. I wait until payment is received before shipping.

Packaging; I use recycled packaging where possible. This will include polystyrene/ foam chips, bubble wrap, plastic bags, cardboard boxes etc.

Refunds and exchanges; In the unlikely event that you are not totally happy with the product I will refund (plus initial postage costs) or exchange, however buyers are responsible for the return postage costs.
