Meet the maker Lorna Middleton

My name is Lorna Middleton and i am the creator of Maker's Meadow, a handmade shop inspired by recycling, upcycling and eco-friendly design. I have recently reignited my love for design and craft and dream that this can be a business to sustain me and my family.

I graduated in BA History and it is the story and history behind the recycled finds that inspires me to reuse what we have in the world. I strongly believe in protecting the environment and consciously make steps towards improving my eco credentials both in the business and at home. I mainly work in textiles; sewing, applique and quilting, but love trying new crafts and i am looking forward to doing more woodwork in the near future and bringing new products to the store for you to enjoy.

I am inspired by anything with good design, a great story and any material i could make use of that was going to be chucked away. One mans trash is a craftwomens treasure. I love to make practical but beautiful products that can have a new life away from the landfill. Many of my materials come from my local brewery, Geeves Brewery, which is owned by my supportive and brilliant partner Harry and his father Pete. They too believe in protecting the country around them and are happy that i can use their waste and turn it into something new and useful.

Other than making and crafting i love visiting pubs, museums, the British countryside and galleries, i adore food and real ale, and i love throwing one hell of a party. Like to know more? Head on over to my blog

POLICIES

Shipping

I use Royal Mail services and post second class as I want to keep the price of postage and packaging as low as possible. If you would like a upgrade to first class or signed for don’t hesitate to contact me and I can quote you an updated shipping charge. If you are buying more then 2 items contact me as I can create a custom order for you with combined shipping as it is more cost effective

I ship items within 3-5 days from purchase but always aim for 3 days. Second class normally arrives UK 2-3 working days, Europe 4-5 working days and everywhere else 5-6 working days. I can not be responsible for delayed post as they are totally out of my hands. If you want to guarantee quick delivery and require a tracking number I can also provide alternative shipping costs for expedient shipping.

Refunds and Exchanges

I want you to be happy with your purchase but if for any reason you are not please contact me as soon as possible after receipt to arrange a refund or exchange. All shipping charges for refunds are your responsibility. You can cancel the order and get a refund from me within seven days after receipt of the item, provided the item has not been used and is not a custom order. All purchases are covered by the UK Distance Selling Regulations
