Meet the maker Louise Shaw

I've always been drawn to all things shiny and sparkly which could explain why I enjoy making jewellery as much as I do. I have tried many different techniques and found that my favourite mediums to work in are copper any gemstone.
I love how every variety of gemstone has it's own myths and legends surrounding them which in itself can bring amazing amounts of inspiration.
I am a mum of two beautiful kids who are my biggest fans, they are just as passionate about gemstones as I am and love seeing what gems I'm going to play with next as well as going rock hounding on our many walks in the Highlands and Trossachs. My poor husband doesn't share this passion with us but he is the most supportive man I know, maybe because I'm kept busy and quiet when I'm in creative mode.
I am self taught in most jewellery making techniques and love seeing what happens when I try new ideas. I am always looking for a new method of doing things and new techniques to try which I always find exciting and keeps me addicted to the craft of jewellery making.
