Meet the maker Deborah Iden
I'm Deborah Iden, and I live and work in Dumfries & Galloway, where I try to fit my textile artwork in between raising my two children (aged 5 and 8) and the odd bit of housework. With a little-used degree in Archaeology, and a background in Environmental education, I am constantly inspired by the world around me, and particularly by the way children view the world and wildlife around them. My work is simple and colourful, often using strong shapes and structure, and embellished with a variety of 'bling' ranging from shells and sea-glass to found/recycled objects to beads and buttons picked up on my travels.
