Meet the maker Becky Toughill

Becky has been creative since she was old enough to make a mess (which was quite early on) She began with drawing, and has since branched out into stitch, jewellery, stationery and since 2008, teaching Art, Photography and Design at secondary level.

Becky orginally comes from ye olde pork pie town of Melton Mowbray, but has recently relocated to Lincolnshire and has two studios, one in Peterborough city centre and one at her home of Balcony House. Her life-long dream of owning her own gallery of handmade beauties and working studio spaces is becoming ever closer to realisation.

Becky also works as Design Director for a UK based classic watch retailer and watch inspired accessory company.

Her handmade company currently offers a wide spectrum of accessories- which she believes go far beyond the term 'jewellery'. She likes to create wearable pieces of art, with a variety of colours, textures, shapes and patterns within her work - similar to what makes a painting or sculpture successful. Although predominently decorative, Becky believes in playful experimentation, and putting a twist on the norm, whilst making pieces that are wearable or that people will love interacting with. Her love for vintage objects and Victorian literature is also apparent in a lot of her work.

Becky makes a lot of her jewellery, stationery and giftware from recycled objects such as costume jewellery, cards, maps, books, fabric, clothing, china and glassware. She creates items that have a unique identity and excellent quality. Her gift wrapping skills are also pretty good(!) and she is always happy to customise items to suit her buyer.

Becky happily makes bespoke for weddings, big birthdays or any other special occasions. Do enjoy taking a peek at her shop, and should you want to see the full extent of her pieces, please hop over to the website, www.beckytoughill.co.uk where her unique and full portfolio is viewable.

Becky posts all jewellery by first class or recorded (signed for) delivery, in line with Royal Mail recommendations. You do not need a folksy account to purchase through paypal, and you do not have to store your information with Paypal to pursue payment.

Refunds and Exchanges

If you change your mind about something within seven days you are free to return it with a full refund, so long as the item has not been used. Earrings however are not covered by this policy due to hygiene reasons. It is requested that the purchaser pays the shipping costs.

Returns on Custom items
Unfortunately returns are not accepted on custom orders, but Becky does ensure that the order is properly communicated to the buyer via email and telephone or meeting in person before posting.

Durability

Becky uses a deal of recycled objects as well as new ones in her work. She takes great pride in the durability and longevity of her products, however it is very hard to predict individual wear on every item. Each item is quality controlled before being put on sale and a care card with advice is sent out with every purchase of jewellery or accessory. Special care recommendations are also enclosed with purchases of homeware such as candles and cake stands.
