Meet the maker Gay Rich

Hi I started making jewellery about 2 years ago and really wish that I had started a long time ago, I absolutely love it, it seems that finally my creative side has emerged, it took a while!! I have managed to sell some items to friends and work colleagues but as I was made redundant in March 2013 I decided to escalate my jewellery making and selling, although with two new additions to the family in the form of Tiger & Lily who are brother and sister and the most gorgeous Bengal X kittens, it has become very interesting!!

I like working with all kinds of medium but in particular I like to work with Swarovski crystal beads and pearls, and semi-precious gemstones, lampwork beads and murano glass. I just love thinking up new designs and get inspirations from all sorts of places, it has made me much more observant. I am continually looking for new ideas and inspiration comes from the most unlikely places for instance I might see a dress with a particular design or mix of colours and it will trigger an idea, even a design on a bag or wallpaper and of course nature is the best colour pallet there could possibly be.

I will also create new items from your old jewellery, most people have certain items of jewellery at the bottom of their jewellery box which they look at and never wear because it is not quite right for them. If for instance you have a multi strand necklace I could turn this into a single strand necklace with maybe added toning beads as a focal point and also create a bracelet and earrings to match, or maybe the catch is not right for you I can change the catch, the necklace or bracelet will need to be restrung for the new catch to be added.

I hope you will like the items in my shop and I will continue to add to them.
