Meet the maker Gemma

I like to get lost in a story, I like happy endings and magical things.
I like to visit places and be outdoors, photographing anything that catches my eye.
I love animals and flowers, one day I might have a few more pets and have a bit more knowledge about flowers!
I’m a daydreamer and a wanderer (yes it has taken me a while to put this down on paper!) I think my work reflects my personality; imaginative, quirky and not afraid to use bright colour :-)

My artistic work is a visual record of my thoughts, emotions and connection to life. Evolving with me and my personal experiences, yet challenging the viewer to interpret their own meaning in the universal ideas of love, loss, life and eternity.
My motto is 'Be Creative, Be Happy'.
I believe that feeling synchronised on our own path and with the natural world is important to our happiness and creativity.

I like to draw inspiration from the outdoor world, photographing everything around me; shells on the beach, flowers in a field or an old building in town. Bits and pieces from all around me are stored up in my mind, scribbled down or photographed, and it is these experiences that fire up my creativity into the material pieces.
I also record the stages of a painting and write an inspirational verse for each piece.
