Meet the maker Bev Newman

Hi I'm Bev, from Southampton UK

As the Abba song should go...."I've been a knitter since I could walk..." well almost. Bev learned to knit at 5 and crochet at 6 and have finally tamed a sewing machine too!

Bits and Bobs Crafts has developed from a passion to both share unique designs in knit and crochet and the skills needed to take your own steps in creativity. Bev has developed a range of ready made items for sale and a varied custom order service - quite simply, if you like a design you can order it in colours of your choice. Want a smaller or larger size? A different stitch pattern? Just let us know and Bev will work her magic. Bespoke orders are also welcome and customers are assured of a fully consultative service, with involvement in all stages of the design process. If you live Hampshire, Bev is also able to meet you and discuss your needs face to face, at no extra cost.

Bits and Bobs Crafts is also a social enterprise, having been medically retired for some time, Bev realised there were many people like her who could benefit from crafting but were excluded from doing so, due to a lack of affordable lessons. Bev now offers a range of classes and craft clubs for all ages and stages of crafter, with prices starting at £3 per session. The sessions are unique in that they are tailored to the needs of each group and guided discussions are also encouraged around diverse subjects from crafting on a budget to using crafts to help manage physical pain.
