I first dabbled with screen printing 25ish years ago at university whilst studying fashion and textiles. I rediscovered my love of printing ten years ago at Sheffield Print Club and never looked back. I’ve been creating hand-pulled screen prints ever since!
I like to create vibrant prints that capture the different colours of the seasons. My ideas originate from being outdoors in the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire where I live. I begin the design process by taking lots of observational photos of landscapes, trees, flowers and hedgerows whilst out walking.
All of my designs are hand-drawn in ink or more recently using Procreate on an iPad and then I work on the design and create my layers in Adobe Photoshop before heading for my local print studio to prepare my screens. I like to print in my little garden studio often in the company of our cockapoo, Budleigh!

This is such a beautiful print - thank you so much! I saw this at a Christmas fair last year and absolutely loved it. I didn’t but at the time but really wished I had. The cards of winter scenes are gorgeous as well. Kate has an extraordinary talent. Thank you for sharing your work the print will bring me much joy.
