Hi, my name is Sophie Thurlow, a Bristol based artist. I use my love of art to raise money and awareness of causes close to my heart.
Within my art I try to use recycled items to reduce my environmental footprint. This includes using pre-loved frames (in excellent condition) and also to use the unusual canvas of a used teabag. I love the different staining that is achieved with the teabags and a unique piece of art is created.
I was awarded a distinction in a Diploma with the London Art College and had one of my drawings featured in Uppercase Magazine.
More recently I was honoured to have my Gibbon on a Teabag selected as one of the 100 Sketch for Survival Introducing Artworks to be chosen to go on Uk tour with the Invitational Collection. All pieces are due to be auctioned off to raise money for Explorers Against Extinction and their worldwide projects to save endangered species.
I like to give back to charities through my artwork. I have recently also been supporting Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary and Prickles Hedgehog Rescue where I donate a proportion of my sales to them.
I love to be commissioned for wildlife/pet portraits so please feel free to contact me.
