When I was given a Bernard Leach pattern kick wheel a few years back I taught myself to throw small pots. A top loading kiln was then an essential purchase and I've now developed a range of items that I can sell online

I make stoneware pots firing to a high temperature so that the glazes bond with the clay body. Every clay and glaze combination gives different outcomes so the process is always interesting. The minerals in many clays combine with the glazes at high temperatures and can affect the fired glaze colour and texture.

Influences are Japanese traditional ceramics because of the expert yet relaxed methods used to work the natural clays and minerals used. Scandinavian simplicity and attention to form also influences the design and shape of my work.
