Turning an ordinary peice of wood into a beautiful, functional or decorative object, is what I do.

Wood turning has been my hobby for many years now, and since I retired I have had more time to enjoy it. I love the natural grain, and how the colour pops out, when I apply the finish to an object.
I use many different woods. locally sourced, as well as exotic woods from all over the world, I also use man made acrylic blanks, mainly because of the amazing colours in them.
Wood turning is not a cheap hobby, the lathe, band saw, materials, and all the tools, extractor fan, tool grinders and other PPE, the list is a long one.
Prices of items on offer will vary a lot, as well as cause some confusion to potential customers; one example is any style of pen eg The Slimline Pen, they all look similar, but the asking price vary, there is two reasons for this, one is the plating on the hardware or the 'pen parts', platinum plating will cost considerably more than chrome or silver plating, secondly locally sourced wood costs a lot less than exotic wood bought on-line. I buy most of the 'hardware' I use in my woodturning projects, on-line, that includes, pen parts, clocks, pepper grinders etc.
I work from home in a medium sized shed, I turn just about anything, many different styles of pens and fountain pens, salt & pepper shakers, salt & pepper grinders, candle holders, tea light candle holders, clocks, boxes, cake stands, bud vases, razorblade handles, bowls and platters, Christmas decorations and much more. I am also happy to do commission work.
