Hi! My name is Emma and I run Howdy’s Den from my home studio in the grim and frost bitten North West of England. I live with my husband, daughter and an unreasonable amount of Giant African Land Snails.
My love affair with horror began when I was 8 years old, when I watched the 1980’s classic, The Monster Squad, at my friends house one afternoon and was absolutely terrified by it. Little did I realise that a seed was planted that day and a true love of all things spooky would grow from it. That, along with Northern humour, cult classics, pop culture, the 80’s and 90’s and goth and metal music, inspires my work.
Art, design and crafting has always been a huge part of my life. Being creative is an intrinsic part of who I am, I will try my hand at just about anything once and I genuinely love the thrill I get from taking an idea and making it a physical thing.
Making creation my job is a dream come true! I am truly grateful to anyone who passes through my shop and loves something enough to actually buy from me. Every order really makes my day!

FAQ:
Delivery and Packaging: We aim to post ready made items within 1-2 days of purchase, unless otherwise stated. Items will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post and Royal Mail International post. To keep postage prices low we try to use recycled packaging for larger items as much as possible within the UK. We offer a postage upgrade that you can purchase at point of sale, this will ensure your order is shipped the same day if purchased before 2pm MONDAY-FRIDAY. Orders placed on a SATURDAY, SUNDAY or on a BANK HOLIDAY will be posted on the next working day. Printed items will be sent in sturdy card backed envelopes or small mailer boxes to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition. We use biodegradable cellophane to protect orders, this is plant based and is compostable. Our bubblewrap is made using recycled plastics and is biodegradable.
At this point in time we do not post to the EU and USA. This is due to current regulations. We will be keeping this under review and hope to offer this service in the future.
Handmade/Upcycled items: All our handmade/upcycled items (hand painted figurines etc) are made by hand and as such variation is to be expected. Materials used will be clearly stated in each listing. The figurines we use may have acquired some damage during their lifetime, we will always be transparent about this in the listing. Where needed we make repairs/alterations before painting. We love giving items that would probably end up in landfill a second chance at life. Our figurines are hand painted, sealed with varnish and hand signed and numbered, they are intended for decorative use only. If you have an idea in mind for a figurine, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to discuss your idea and help you bring it to life!
Prints/Stickers: We create and print all our images, ourselves, in house. Please be aware that due to differences between monitors/screens some variation in colour may occur. We only use premium paper/vinyls for our printed items and will state clearly in the listing the type of paper/vinyl being used. Unless clearly stated in the listing, prints DO NOT come framed, any frame used in photographs on listings is not included in the sale. If a print is part of a limited run this will be clearly stated in the listing and once those prints have sold, the print will be retired and will no longer be available for purchase. We can print up to A3 in size, please contact us to discuss your sizing needs.
Custom Drawings/Stickers: In order for us to produce the best image possible for you we will require good sized, clear images of the subject/subjects to use as reference images. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure you are happy with the image/images before printing. Our current turn around time for custom items is 1-2 weeks. Once the item is completed and signed off by the customer we aim to post items within 1-2 days and unless otherwise agreed items will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post unless you purchase a shipping upgrade.
AI: Howdy’s Den values the work of artists and skilled people very highly and as such we will never use AI in the creation of any of our works, advertising or sales listings. We want your experience with us to be the best it possibly can be, so you can be certain that our items are made by a real person, described by a real person and when you contact us you’ll speak to an actual human.
