Meet the maker

Patchwork Butterfly is lovingly run by myself Lisa-Marie Gibbs and marries two of my big obsessions, drawing and hand stitching which combine to make beautiful things to adorn you and your home.

Patchwork butterfly is inspired by the mundane, insane, gossip, beauty, love, life and all of the other stuff that surrounds us. So this somewhat makes the inspiration endless.

Everything I make starts with a line, that line can be a mono print, painting, or a beautiful line of hand stitching on a cushion.

The materials for my work are an eclectic mix of vintage fabrics, buttons threads and knits. Like a human magpie I collect fom everywhere and anywhere. My journeys have brought inspirational vibrant silks and my grandmothers button collection has contributed exquisite pieces from yesteryear. The cumilation of using materials from wide and varied sources means that I never compromise on quality and naturally ensures that each piece is absolutley unique.

My studio is filled with beautiful silk, vintage prints, heirloom stitchings, buttons, photographs, my beloved collection of books and poems. The menagerie of oddments and curiosities never fail to inspire my work.

I make things that I hope touch you in some way, that become part of your everyday lives, that still retain the feeling of wonder when you first saw, bought or were given them.

Shipping will be in 48 hours of your payment clearing, though usually next day or next by 1st class. Items of higher value go recorded, which requires a signature on delivery. I will confirm I have shipped your lovely things via Folksy email. I always request certificate of posting from UK post office, which confirms that the post office is in receipt of the parcel and that the correct postage has been paid for. It is possible to upgrade for more secure shipping which can be arranged, please contact me for a natter about your requirements.
